General information

Kola NPP is the key electricity supplier of Murmansk region and the Republic of Karelia. It is situated 200 km south of Murmansk on the shore of Imandra, one of the biggest and finest lakes of Northern Europe. The plant has four units 440 MW each (half of the region’s power generating capacity). The annual production capacity is over 12bln KWh. Kola NPP is absolutely safe. Today, it is operating at full capacity, which is a good basis for the region’s industrial development.

The key tasks of the local management are:

• to organize stable electricity supplies
• to get optimal profit due to economic efficiency and safety
• to ensure the financial stability of the plant and the social security of the personnel through corporate social programs

Kola NPP realizes its responsibility for its personnel and does its best to provide its employees with worthy wages and a large package of social benefits, guarantees and services.

Each year the plant conducts medical and rehabilitation programs, projects for veterans of labor and war and youths, cultural and sports events. The plant is actively involved in municipal and regional social programs. It helps local educational institutions, repairs and builds social and cultural facilities, restores churches.  

Today, Kola NPP is one of the safest and most efficient NPPs in Russia.

2000 2^nd best NPP of Russia;

2001 the winner of the 2^nd All-Russian Contest "Russian Organization of High Social Efficiency";

2001 2^nd best NPP of Russia;

2002 the winner of the Contest "Enterprise of High Production and Labor Management Culture";

2003 Certificate of Honor of Murmansk region for outstanding contribution to the social-economic development of the region;

2004 the winner of the contest "Enterprise of High Production and Labor Management Culture";

2004 3d best NPP of Russia;

2005 2^nd best NPP of Russia;

2005 the winner of the "Best Enterprise of the Sector" nomination at the 5 ^th All-Russian Contest "Russian Organization of High Social Efficiency";

2006 the safest NPP of Russia.
